Frequently Asked Questions

What if I’m not sporty?

That’s absolutely fine – you do not need to be sporty to benefit from sessions. Many clients come to me because they feel stiff from desk work, have recurring aches, want to move more comfortably, or simply want support getting back to feeling stronger and more confident in their body. Whether you’re active, just starting out, or haven’t exercised in years, sessions are tailored to where you are right now.

What happens in an initial consultation?

Your first consultation is designed to understand the full picture. We’ll talk through what’s been going on, what movements or activities are affected, and what your goals are. Depending on the issue, I may suggest booking a movement assessment, hands-on treatment, or weekly personal trainer sessions so we can create a clear plan for your next steps.

Can this help runners and triathletes?

Definitely. As a biomechanics coach and Team GB age-group athlete, I work with runners, triathletes and active people who want support with recovery, recurring niggles, movement confidence and getting back to training well.

Do you offer personal training sessions?

Yes – I offer movement-focused personal training and rehab-based support sessions designed to help you build confidence, improve how you move and feel more comfortable in the gym. This is ideal if you’re returning after injury, feeling unsure where to start, or want guidance with strength, mobility and movement quality. When you’re ready to move into heavier lifting, performance goals or more competitive training, I also have trusted trainers I can refer you on to so you continue progressing with the right support.

Can I book if I’m currently in pain?

Yes – absolutely. Many clients book because pain, stiffness or recurring niggles are starting to affect training, work or day-to-day life. The aim is to help you understand what’s going on, calm things down, and give you confidence in the right way forward.

What should I wear?

Wear something comfortable that allows easy access to the area we may need to assess or treat. For movement-based sessions, gym clothes or activewear are ideal. For sports massage, shorts, a clippy bra, or clothing that can move out of the way works well.

Do I need sports massage or rehab support?

If you’re mainly dealing with tight muscles, post-training soreness, desk tension or general aches, sports massage is usually the best starting point.

If the issue keeps coming back, is affecting how you move, or you’re returning from injury, an initial consultation is often the better route so we can look at what’s really driving it.

Where are you based?

Sessions are based at WilLBfit Gym in Wrexham, with free, easy parking and a welcoming private treatment space upstairs.

You’ll receive all booking details via email and text when your appointment is booked online, and the system lets you easily adjust your appointment.

What if I’m not sure what to book?

That’s completely normal. If you’re unsure whether sports massage, rehab support or an initial consultation is the best fit, send a message through the contact form at the bottom of this page and I’ll help guide you towards the right starting point.

Jen was great helping me out with a running injury – really clear and effective guidance which is getting me back on track, despite extensive support from other specialists! It’s been Jen’s advice that has got me running again. Thank you!
